Being The Change I Want To See In The World! Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T.

What a week (maybe two but who’s counting) it has been! Consistency in blogging is on the back burner, and BeReal is top of mind!

Reading: I am reading Klara and the Sun for book club! It is super sci fi which is not a genre I typically go for (as I famously HATE ROBOTS!!!!!!), but this story is super interesting. I am most interested in how robots, just like people, try to make meaning from their surroundings to justify the good and bad in the world, and just like with early humans, the Artificial Friends look to the sun as the all powerful order maker. I am not finished yet but am enjoying it. I still hate robots though (except for my Ninja Creami).

Eating: Sandwiches at Alfie’s in Kensington. So so good. They are huge, they are so fresh and they knocked my socks off. I am recommending the Laura or the chicken one that is on the bottom of the menu. Both awesome. Trust me.

Playing: I have been playing around with my aforementioned new Ninja Creami! I am experimenting with so many different non dairy milks and have gone through a whole bag of mini M&Ms. My newest idea is an almond milk vanilla base with TruFru mixed in. Tell me that’s not the smartest, coolest, yummiest, awesomest Creami the world has ever seen! Hit me up for a custom pint of ice cream.

Obsessing over: This season of Big Brother. Every summer I forget that my Twitter (and now blog) become a Big Brother fan account. The real life hatred between people in the house makes it feel like old era BB. I think the way people are taking things so personally is really making it feel like all the other reality shows I watch and love. I always feel inclined to thank all the people who go on reality tv for my entertainment and make a fool out of themselves to the world for me to enjoy. I am so lucky. I love Melody, I LOVE MALLORY, I love Dee. I think Barrett or Taylor will win this season (or Dee but they will never let her get that far). If this is new era BB, I am in!

Recommending: The Invite. WOW. What a movie. I really do believe in Olivia Wilde’s art, I think she is smart and spunky. If she was a man people would eat her up but everyone is always mad at her? This movie is genuinely funny and the dialogue is so human and natural. I am really into the new trend of bottle-esque movies that don’t have an action filled complicated plot, but show a short snippet of real human conflict at a close glance to make a rich story. It’s not about what is happening and more about what are people feeling. It is very The Drama in that way. I laughed out loud so many times because the humour felt SO familiar and real and exactly what you would say if you were at that dinner party. I want to see it again and again and again. Please go see it with your friends, don’t see it with your dad.

Trying: I am trying to be the change I want to see in the world… and what is that change you may ask? BRINGING BACK BeReal. I want everyone to show me what they are doing at all times. It really is the perfect app and much like all social media, only fun when everyone you know (and people you kind of know) are participating! Please redownload BeReal (and if you have been BeRealing this whole time and I was just lame and stopped, the egg is on my face) and add me! Thank you and I can’t wait to see what you are doing at any given moment in time.

I will R.E.P.O.R.T. back next week, see you all on BeReal!
